Details & Origin
This vintage clutch is made of traditional Japanese textiles, woven from silk and lamé threads which together give this bag a very particular shine. You can notice the bag changes colours in different lights, The tangerine and light khaki background becomes gold.
The motifs is an asymetrical flower arrangement composed of chrysanthemums and cherry blossoms.In the back, auspicious plants and subtly depicted: momiji leaves, bamboo grass and pine branches.
The inside is made of plain silk satin with 2 small inner pockets. The whole bag is consolidated with a sturdy structure.
It opens and closes with a gold chiselled knob clasp.
Fabric
Often produced by Obi artisans, but unlike most Obi fabrics, these accessory textiles (to be used for clutch and shoes) are designed to be strong and resist friction over the years of use.
Condition
Used. Correct conditions with a few defaults that made its price lower: the frame is. a bit worn off in some places, one of the side is stained and the lining is sprinkled with humidity dots. (see photos)
